Three die after being struck by lightning
Three people have died after being struck by lightning in separate incidents in Jhapa, Morang and Saptari districts, Tuesday night.
Bimala Rajbanshi, 39, a resident of Maheshpur-1, Jhapa, was critically injured after being hit by a bolt of lightning yesterday night. She later died while being rushed to Bhadrapur for medical treatment, according to District Police Office, Jhapa.Reports from Morang said that Kalpana Ghimire, 38, also died after being struck by lightning bolt while she was sleeping inside her house in Urlabari.Ghimire died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Damak of Jhapa.Similarly, Rajendra Mandal, 35, Tiguan VDC-1 of Saptari district also died after being struck by lightning, police said.Cases of people dying after being hit by lightning sees a sharp increase during the monsoon season
