Could this be to combat some bots?

I've been cutting Ivy to get some WC levels and for some reason the ivy, once its been cut, doesnt grow back; graphically. Its there but you cant see it, you can cut it but only if you click the right spots. It's happening to EVERYONE.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, because I may just be thinking about SCAR (lol) but dont some scripts/bots work of of colors or anything like that anymore? Could Jagex have taken out the regrowth just to F*ck with some bots or anything like that or is my imagination just creating conspiracy theories?

From what I've heard, jagex have now changed the way the game engine works which screws reflection bots as they worked off ID interpreting for a great chunk of functioning. Apparently now they've used a massive bunch of arrays for a singular ID and furthmore, have gone to encryption methods with specialized advanced algorithms created by themselves.
I'm going off several things I've seen/read since the update has come out from some well known developers
