Hey RuneGear,

After this competition is over we would like to do some more contests at a later date,so what I'm looking from you is contest ideas.

What would you think would make a good contest for the forum, the rules for it and how it should be done and awarded.

Ideas would need to be accessible to most members and also try and benefit the site in some way, however not always necessary.


If we use one of your ideas in the future there may be a small prize(sorting this out now)
 
a userbar contest maybe? I think it would help change the forums a bit. And a reward for this could be an award. Thefore u wont loose rsgp ;p
 
We need a contest in which ALL members can participate in.. I would like to see an advertising contest, like the Active links contest. We have many more new members, and I'm sure many would participate.

Yea some kind of advertising contest
Like making youtube videos and advertising on other sites
But to tell who won you would get them to use their referral link and the user they referred would have to stay active
So the winner would be the person who referred the most people who stay active

That to me is a great idea
And first place would be something like 50m or something big so people actually go for it
 
A guide competition is always a good one, there's no bullshit like spamming involved and anyone can participate. He who makes the most understandable, clear cut, and informative guide of any sort is the winner.
 
The spamming contest hasn't really worked out for people.
The advertising contest sounds like a good idea. But then people would have to juggle 2+ forums at the same time to make sure they are advertising on another forum + their own love of RuneGear.
Question: How would you determine a winner for the advertising contest?
 
Pichu The person who referrers the most people And the only referred people that count are the ones that stay active
So staff would have to go though the top 10 refer winners and check out the people they referred so they arnt just second accounts or w.e

I would do that,but meh. I'm going to keep it low for now.
 
Competition on who exposes runegear the best. (Promote on your youtube, twitter, advertising, telling you local hooker on a friday night etc etc)

The adversiting seems a good idea, but doing it in YouTube would be a waste imo, no one really goes on YouTube and searches for "active runescape forums" and things like that. Adversiting on other forums can be a good idea if the owners accept it.

Can't we have like a contest in runescape? Like an official runegear event? For example mini games like in rc guild, or maybe fish flingers idk. Something to do ingame would be a lot more fun.

Refer contest is a horrible idea. It was done in the past and is horrible. If one person has a strong followers base on tumblr or twitter and they ask for a favour to register and put as a refferer they get it. So they rack up reffers without the site even improving in activity.

Referrer contests are the worst ones you can, I would settle with advertisement contest, or something unique like an IRL prank or something but recorded.


We can even set up something in runescape, like a tournament for Pking or something, similar to the way Euro Cup was run.
 

The boxing cup! Fish flingers 2012 of RG! And something like that! We must do it!
 
I like how nobody has said a thing about my idea even though it helps the forum by providing better content and everyone can participate in it.

Been suggested before and didn't work. That's why I ignored it. THis isn't gunna be a gaming forum much longer according to some of glens posts.
 

What kind of forum is he going to turn it into?
 

Go look at his posts, i'm to lazy ;3 and getting back to work in a moment or so.
