CometChat

Illusion created another suggestion for an SB on the site, and that reminded me of CometChat.
CometChat is a little chat-bar where you can chat to any online member, play mini-games with them, etc.
Basically, like FB chat, but with a lot more stuff.
Haven't ever seen this on a MyBB site, I've only seen this on IPB sites, but it would be a pretty cool thing to have IMO.

And yes, you're able to close it.
This could be a substitution for a shoutbox.
(I know this suggestion will probably be denied, but I still thought it'd be a cool thing to have on this site)

if we get enough members interested i will start the chat page up my self.

Actually, one of the sites I was a staff member had this. I loved it, and we organized events with the games you're able to play in it (such as a checkers tournament, chess, etc.)

i can understand where philly is coming from about drawing the wrong type of member and slowing down the site.......
BUT if it is shot down again we can take it upon our selfs.
http://www.chatango.com is a free to join chat group.
each member can create there own "chat room"
so if some one creates a room, we can make it private so only people we allow in can access it and make it strictly for fk members.
it isnt a forum site so it wont be competition with this forum, but it would run better, faster, and smoother then a shout box with out slowing down the forums speed.
