Thanks to TeraByte, we now have an excellent chatbar at the bottom of the forum window.
It has a similar functionability to the facebook chat bar, so it should be very simple to use.
At the bottom right of the chat bar there are 4-5 icons. The first takes you to the home page, the second shares the site through other social networks of your choice, the arrow will take you back to the top of the page, and the 4th icon is the chatrooms button.
Clicking the chatrooms icon will open up a little window with a list of the forums chat rooms. Most will be locked unless you have the password from the relevant group sections. But there is one "CTF Group Chat" which you are free to go into and have a chat.
The chances are this will replace the shoutbox.
