I don't really know the purpose of posting this here but I figured I should.

This is an incredible video in my opinion, displaying how many people turn a blind eye to blatant bullying today.

Bullying will never just "stop" it will always be around, the only thing the person can do is stand up for themselves.

That's an awful thing to say. Others have to stand up against it. Sometimes victims don't have the courage to stand up to bullies, and they need help to do it. If they're alone, nothings going to change. It's our responsibility to stop this. To say that it's the victim's job to stand up to their oppressor alone is just ignorant.

If the person is defenseless then you should help them out, but it really isn't "our" responsibility to stop it.

Yes it is. You think it's okay to just stand there and watch this happen? How the fuck do you think that is acceptable? If you see bullying, stop it. It's an terrible, terrible burden that tons of people face everyday. Do you know how many suicides occur every year because of bullying? A lot. You're just going to stand there and let it happen? Fuck you. You're part of the problem.

I'm not part of the problem, the bully is. NO ONE ELSE. Just the bully, he is the one who chooses to bully so I don't see how it's my fault if someone commits suicide because they got bullied.

Honestly, if you are being bullied dont go to teachers/ authorities, it will make it worse. If you have to stand up for yourself, most of the time the bully is going to be smaller and weaker than you. If he isn't, just get a few friends to go and beat him up or jump him one day?

You're so wrong. The biggest problem with bullying in today's society is people like you, if nobody stops bullying it's only going to get worse. And with technology, the opportunities for bullying are just that much larger. There are always going to be bullies, it's just the way it is. There will always be victims of the bullying, because it's taken out on someone. But there don't always have to be bystanders. Why stand there and watch, film, when you can stop the bullying? The amount of depressed teens with the number 1 reason for that being bullying is staggering. It'll only go on if nobody stands up against the rest and puts a stop to it.

I know I sound sappy and preacher-y, but it's just the truth.

If you don't stand up to the bully, it is your fault. You saw a problem, and ignored it. You pretended like it wasn't there. You need a reality check, mate. Most of the time, bullies are the ones who were bullied before, whether it be by other kids, their parents, etc. It's an endless cycle. If we just stand by and watch, we're creating a bigger problem. I cannot believe how ignorant you are. Bullying is a huge problem, that we need to fix. WE CANNOT JUST WATCH IT HAPPEN. That is part of the problem.

If the victim always relies on someone to come and help him with the bully how will he live a life? He will always feel like he had someone to depend on and someone always has his back. Friends aren't always going to be there for you?..

I might agree, although there are different circumstances.

I think this video is more about bystanders not acting on their true values, and less about going to the authorities or not.

I shouldn't have to stand up for them if they can do so themselves, don't get me wrong if I see someone in a situation and it doesn't look good but if I see that the person is fully capable of handling it himself/herself then I let him/her do so. Also "The biggest problem with bullying in today's society is people like you, if nobody stops bullying it's only going to get worse" Since when has a problem with bullying involved a bystander? It's not like I'm bullying the person by not helping them in a situation then can handle themselves.

You don't know they can handle it themselves. In most situations, they usually can't.

And to your question, EVERY public bullying situation has bystanders. There is the bully, the victim, and the bystander. And hell, if you stand there and watch, you surely aren't making it any better. Probably just making it worse, by subconsciously giving the bully more support, knowing nobody will stop him.

If you're saying it's my fault then that's just like if I saw someone shoot someone else and reported then I committed the crime, not the person who shot the other person. If you report someone for bullying not a lot of things will happen, they get suspended a couple of days from school for bullying another student. Big whop.

I cannot believe that anyone can possibly be this ignorant.

Bystanders are the biggest problem when it comes to bullying. The victim is rarely able to stand up for himself, which is why we need to do our part and stop the bullying. By not doing anything, you're enabling the bully to continue what he is doing. That is why you're the problem.

I am only using "he" to shorten my response. Bullying does happen in both genders, and we can also not ignore this.

Refer to my previous post, asshole. I'm saying stand up to the bully. Say the things that the victim cannot. Have you ever been bullied? Do you know what it's like? Do you have friends that have died due to bullying?

Leader I have one question, dont hate me for it. What makes you say a victim most likely can't stand up for himself? I dont quits understand this because if I was bullied I would bash the kids head into the cement, but then again I am a big kid but still?

I already said that I would stand up to the bully, dumbass. Only if I fit needed that the victim need help.

Why let it happen if you deem that the victim can't fight back? Why not stop it altogether at first sight?

There's no reason to leave anyone alone when they're being bullied.

If the victim couldn't fight back then I would help in the conflict, if it was my friend and I know that he could stick up for himself I would watch and see how it turns out, if it started to go down hill then I would jump in and help out.
