So I've done little research on this and It looks very interesting. I would like to start doing this just on a small scale to see how it goes. I'm willing to invest some money, all I'm really looking for is some help. If anyone knows how to mine, and could help me through the process that would be great. 

OT: Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm unaware of where it belongs.
 
unless you invest in some equipment etc, the cost of electricity to mine is like the amount of BTC you mine or even more :c
 
BTC mining is not profitable unless you do it on a really large scale, and because of electricity, it most likely won't be possible to make a lot of profit.
There's a reason why almost all BTC farms is in China, they have cheap eletricity.

You will need a miner.
You have to pick whenever you wanna use, GPU or CPU power for it. The fastest/best is GPU.
Now you'll have to pick the GPU you wanna use, it's a battle between price and hash rate(the number of calculations the GPU can do per second, the more the better).

If you wanna do it the easy way, you can just use specialized hardware for it, which is also the best: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

After that, you'll need to either join a pool, or make your own. I advice atleast in the start, to join a public pool from a trusted provider.
