- Brink is an immersive first person shooter that compiles a great single player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into a masterpiece, allowing you to develop your character while playing alone, with your friends, or against others online.
- Brink also has an advanced player customization feature that offers endless possibilities to create the ultimate character. Making your character unique to each individual player, as you progress throughout the game and gain experience you get the chance to continue customizing your character.
- Along with an amazing customization options there is also a custom campaign that allows the player to choose from two complete different stories. You can either be a member of the Resistance or Security, you can experience the campaign solo, co-operatively, or competitively-it is all up to you…
- The key factor that combines the game together is the sleek layout and seamless traveling throughout the gaming options, such as traveling between single player, co-op, and with friends. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people, you also can play with AI characters cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively.
- Another tool that is unique to Brink is the SMART button. When you hold down the SMART button, the game ultimately evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen. It deciphers you gameplay whether you’re a Veteran or a New User to FPS gaming. The SMART button will not only help you make intelligent decisions, but will change your whole gaming experience for the better.
- Now you may have noticed that all most every FPS game has goals and rewards, but Brink is different. It dynamically generates objectives, missions, and inventory based on your condition, location, and your squad-mates. You’ll always know exactly where to go and what you have to do to get there; with Brink you can almost always count on being successful.
- So what do I think, is Brink a bang for its buck? Well I'm not positive that Brink will be the next greatest game but it does have a chance. It is a very modern TF2 to me, the classes and portrayal draw almost every gamer inside its grasp. Brink is a serious blockbuster of a game but I don't know if it will be remembered because of the games it is competing with at the moment, such as L.A Noire and soon to be released Battlefield 3. Although Brink was originally destined to fail, it has defied most critics and is a very modern and futuristic game that is hitting the market with a bang!
- Here is what some friends of HF have to say:
-Before we go into the players personal opinions of the Brink multiplayer lets understand what comes standard and if it suits you. First of all Squads of Resistance and Security forces are composed of Engineers, Medics, Operatives and Soldiers. A team will work together to achieve the overall objective of a mission, but you will also be able to complete unique objectives that benefit the team and earn you additional experience points.
- In Brink there are four core classes, these classes are built around a set of skills, by leveling up you will be allowed to unlocked new abilities and items that are special to your class. So in truth not one soldier, operative, engineer, or medic will be exactly the same. The reason I personally love the class option is because along with getting a base set of skills you get the chance to customize your class to best suit your gaming abilities/gaming style. In the end your gaming experience will be based on your character creation and style.
- The only drawback to Brink’s multiplayer, if you can even call it a drawback, is the minor sense of unoriginality, throughout Brink we see many traits taken from other successful games. In this case we see Mirror’s Edge’s jumping motion that was adopted into Brink along with a Team Fortress attitude. Besides these minor flaws Brink has pulled off a remarkable stunt by making a game that was destined for failure and turning into something great.
- My opinion on the Brink Multiplayer is short but sweet. Its all about teamwork, if you are are in a game with a bunch of six year old then you will feel the pain because without teamwork you will not be successful. Personally I believe Brink has a good to above average online experience, it can be enjoyable but is not meant to be played for hours on end. I believe it is entertaining but not quite as immersive as expected.
- First things first the AI in this game is terrible you will find that time and time again you will run into a fire fight with your team but you are doing all the work. However it goes the same way for the enemy troops you can walk in-front of an enemy who is shooting at one of your team mates and he wont even notice you there. The most frustrating part about the AI is that in each mission there is a primary objective and it seems like you are the only one choosing the right class to complete it for example in one mission you have to hack a missile (which takes forever) before the level time expires however if you do not play as the operative and do it yourself it never gets done the AI just runs right by even if they are operative class.
- For the actual campaign, it is decent. Its not the greatest and not the worst possible thing there is. The story line isn't very clear and some missions are very difficult and some are to easy. Overall the campaign is very inconsistent that it becomes distracting to the player. If it were me I would avoid the singleplayer all together, although I know some players that absolutely love it. It all depends on what you expect from today's average FPS. In my opinion I believe that the singleplayer does not meet the expectations of today's fps gaming norm.
- Well this sums up my review of Brink. As you previously read Brink does have some serious highs and lows. It suits most gamers and is very appealing for its vast customization menu, along with above-average multiplayer. I would recommend this game to some but it really is a game that has so many gaming variables that is hard to rate and recommend. Brink did meet expectations because originally it was thought to be a failure, but now it is anything but that. Brink may need some time to mature and to reach the top spot as a game. We may see a second version of Brink released to draw more players and revenue because some serious gaming forums have given it a bad rep. I will leave you all with this, Brink is a good game, but not much more than that. I would say rent this game before buying because its overall appeal differs from person to person.
