Bring back the vouch system

I'm posting this thread on behalf of @"Satanism".

The site should bring the old Vouch system back. Where users would actually earn their 'rep' and credibility. With this, you would have to provide proof of the deal/reason you are vouching for the user. This would eliminate all the random reps/rep-for-rep on site. And the users who are actually deserving of good reputation on site, would earn it.

Pros:
  • No Rep-for-Rep
  • Proof of vouches
  • More credible system

Or members can quit being lazy-asses and view the desired member's vouch thread rather than viewing his/her reputation as a sign of trust.

I don't understand why people care so much about how reputation is distributed.

The current rep system means jack shit to most members, there is a vouch section for a reason.

As long as my rep wasn't removed or erased & we gained a vouch system as well, would I be okay with this. It would also fan out who rep4reps & who does deals / helps other users / does giveaways. But then again, I can see users abusing it & saying shit like "Vouch. User has a small penis." & not use it the right way. So I'm neutral on this suggestion.

Tbh. Then it should apply to all current member's with their rep and everything.

Im completely for this because people that have a lot of rep still cannot be trusted.

Holy fuck I agree 100%. I see all these fucking 2014 members with 1k+ reputation points and I automatically think, rep for rep.

Mind rewording that a little bit for me?

I mean if you want to remove such things eg. rep for rep, then the rep before given to each member 'rep4rep' should all also be removed.

You're still making no sense whatsoever.

Anyone who wants to scam is going to scam regardless of their reputation. Therefor this is just another number people can influence fake trust with. I rarely deal but to anyone who deals a lot they are pretty known as legit. For an example @rude is trusted because he has yet to scam and is a straight forward dude. The people who rep4rep tend to stay arounf 300-700 rep so thats no big problem. Seems to me that everyone has forgot about this section.

Ok. The rule wanting to be implemented is to remove re4rep and other stupid rep reasons.

What I am saying is the reputation given by members already should be also removed from people's profiles as it should be fair all across. Why would new members have to be the only one to suffer these rules?

The suggestion is to remove the rep system completely, and add the 'vouch system'.

Oh.. That won't really help. I mistook it. But, doing this won't do anything as vouches are not hard to obtain over small deals. E.g. Something worth .50 cents and the. A huge scam takes place for $200.

That's a lot more credible than getting 100+ rep from users saying you're HQ, a cool guy, funny, etc.

I feel that vouch threads be added in a link below rep, and that would help.

That would help, the problem is most reps are random.

I have around 100 vouches in my vouch thread. The average rep would be 10 probably. So around 500 out of my 1500 rep isnt related to deals. And thats a LOT better then most people can say ratio wise. I agree.

I'm sure you would have a different mindset if most of your rep was from doing deals, and not hosting a giveaway.
