my girlfriend and i broke up about 3 hours ago, i can't really sleep. she's been stand offish with me for the last month, she says it was because of depression and we broke up on mutual ends. she was my first girlfriend in a year, i just feel like shit. i still like her, didn't want to leave her. just knew things weren't gonna work.
i just need advice on how to cope or some advice..
 
Look towards the future. It sucks, I know. Most of us here has probably been through this before.
You just got to relax and think. You still like her, and you can't just be like "well, everything's going to be okay".
If you like her and want things to work out, give her time and establish a good friendship. Hangout, do what you do to make her smile.
Anyways, all I really got tbh ^ it's late as shit and yea. Anyways, I've been through this before. Just give it time man and reestablish a close connection again.

@profanity it just sucks because i'm worried she's gonna move on quick. i wanna stay and be friends with her but i'd wanna be with her. she was going on about how we could still do everything, but i'm not feeling like i wanna be a "side dude". it just sucks because she's the first person i opened up to after getting fucked over. my eyes burn and shit, i just don't know. i'll try just being chill with her. she still want's be to be her "bestfriend" so i suppose it wouldn't hurt to try.

If she moves on quick, she's not loyal.
If she says she broke up because of personal problems and that she doesn't want to yet, will move on quickly, it's not worth it.
I feel it kind of sketchy for her to say that you can still be intimate with her yet not date her.
I'm here to give you advice and I want you to feel better my man. But, if she's being sneaky, you'll get hurt more in the long run.
Just trust me brotha', if you like this girl and she likes you, you'll be together again!
Like I said, go hang-out with some friends and her and do regular fun day-to-day shit .

i'll try my best to stay on pins and needles. i'm gonna try to get the whole thing off my mind, me and a few friends are gonna get a membership at la fitness and start lifting weights. i'm hoping that helps.
it's weird, because we'd be hanging out and i caught her texting one of her ex's and she got defensive saying he cheated on her and they didn't do anything, it just confuses me because i wouldn't do anything like that.
i just hate having to be worried, i'd love to just have a faithful relationship. so hard to come by anymore. always gotta worry now.
i appreciate you being here. not to sound lamer than i already do but hardly any of my friends would even help me with something like this.

you usually can't be friends with someone you have feelings for, all it is, not saying it's simple but time is what you need to give it, both of you. see how you both feel being apart, might hate it, might love it you never know man, stay strong and be positive. if she finds another guy quick as heck she was never really into you, but overall don't be sad over a chick that doesn't want something good man, stay up!

@flexety see it's like i'd like to give being friends a shot, but it's like after you're with someone for so long and do so much it seems off. plus it's bugging me already seeing her post some of the pictures she's posting, of course all the thirsty dudes are swarming it and it upsets me. i don't know. i'm trying to be as chill as possible with this whole thing.

I have a really uncomfortable feeling reading that she wanted to break up, yet wanted to continue to hangout and be best friends. That's like... saying she liked everything except the intimate stuff, which just makes a best friendship so much better. So that leads me to believe that she doesn't want to have to commit to you. Maybe she is hung up on an ex or has conflicting feelings about someone else. And I know that sucks to hear, but coming from a girl, that's what it sounds like.

I would be worried about texting exes as well. I'd never be speaking to an ex while being devoted to someone else. I wouldn't even want to. When you're in a relationship that draw to text people from the past shouldn't be there.

Just sounds a little bit fishy to me. I just went through a break up about a week ago and he was hanging out with his ex girlfriend the very next day. If you ever want to talk about girls or relationships, I have loads of experience, so hmu.

Oh P.S. as far as feeling better, working out every day, eating right, and keeping yourself busy with friends will do the trick. Hanging out with her trying to be "just friends" will not. Good luck!
