Did anyone watch the Blood Moon? If you're reading this now, go look.

These were a pain in the ass to take. I took over 200 pictures. Here are three of around twenty that turned out alright.

did this shit just happen right now or what
It has been for the last couple of hours. It still is going on. If you're in the U.S. or Canada, you'll be able to see it.

Those are actually some nice pics. What did you take them with?

This looks pretty sick, nice pictures, Sector. I miss all the cool shit like this.

I saw it at 2am, it was really small and far away.
But aye you took some HQ pics. XD

I've never seen that before, that looks hella dope.
Thanks for sharing.

How exactly does that happen?

Damn it dude, I was going to stay up so I could see it but I forgot that it was even going to happen.

I stayed up for this but some damn clouds & trees was blocking the moon.

Great pictures!

@Mac @Kassie

I used my L810 because my P550's batteries were charging.

standard lens? I used a 70-200mm on my canon that works like a dream on moon pictures.

Basically, the moon sun and Earth all lined up in this order - sun, Earth, moon. The Earth blocked the light from shining onto the moon, and the blood color is due to reflection on the moon of all the sunrises and sunsets skimming to the moon.

@ OP, I didn’t stay up but my dad did and he said it was pretty cool. Why did the photos mostly come out bad?

Yes. Just a stock lens. I have a 70-300mm for my **D3200 (not P500). It would have been SO nice to have it out.

They didn't come out well because the L810 is literally a $300.00 piece of junk.

That looks pretty sick. I wish I would have stayed up to watch it.

I guess my Physics teacher caught wind of my photos on Instagram and talked to me about the lunar eclipse for nearly the entire class period..

These are actually some pretty amazing shots. I should've stayed up to catch a glimpse of it for myself. Nice work, Sector.
