Which one and why?

I personally think Call of Duty 4 is one of the best simply due to the fact that it is the most balanced AND fun game made in a long time.

Definitely going with halo 2

I also think CSS was the best, was great at one stage a few years ago.

The best FPS that I've played would be w@w/cod4. w@w because it was the first cod that I played and unlocking gun attachments was pretty fun. Cod4 just because the gameplay is pretty fair, you only die because you suck not because of some over powered gun.
 
Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2.

It's amazing in many ways, the graphics are good, not cartoony like Black Ops, overdone by MW3 or anything else. The guns aren't overpowered, and there is a downside. Hackers.

Scratch this, Doom is the best damn thing ever!
 
Mw2 and mw3 are the exact same for me apart from maps.
