Are you safe in social sites?

Giving all our information in any online site is not a good activity, we must hide some of our personal identity in social sites, since they are used by various kind of people, we don't know who is good and who is scam, if we give all our personals in a social site, there may be a chance that some hackers will get our information and do some unwanted things, so we must be careful while sharing our personal things in social sites like face book.

Don't give all your personal information like address, contact details, education information in your profile, if you provide this kind of details in your profile, then make it private, don't share it with unknown persons, it is your safer side.

Would you tell a complete stranger all about your family, work, love life, hobbies and interests? And give them some personal photos to look at too? Most people approached on the street would probably answer ‘no’ to the above questions.
But on the Internet, that’s exactly what millions of us are doing on the hugely popular social networking sites and chat rooms. Online social networks are fun and trendy, but they also present a major security concern for Internet users.

The bright young student, with whom you think you are conversing, could easily be a middle-aged fraud, rapist or paedophile.
If you decide that you want to meet a person whom you have befriended on line, always do it in a public place, preferably accompanied by someone you trust.

here in our country, there are some reported cases of rape and robbery because of having a facebook account. i think having a facebook account can endanger one's life when you give too much information about yourself. some reported cases are robbery wherein a person will come to meet another person which is said to be a buyer of certain product that the person sells. there are a lot of these in facebook such as selling clothes, weight loss products, weight gain products, contact lenses, others. another case are rape. because facebook is indeed the best social network for all of us, people tend to find love by means of chatting, knowing a person they haven't met, and finally meeting up with them. in the news, there are instances like these, and girls got raped because of meeting up with someone they do not know. so just be careful guys evil:evil:evil:

To a few extent you are safe in the social sites but when it come to hackers you arent safe. my got my fanbox account hacked and had to bear a earning loss coz it is a earning site..

hi good day, yeah i strongly agree we must to keep private our all details and information because we dont know what others thinking and it is better to keep safe and last thing, there's a lot of scammers as of now if they know all the information about you its a bigger chances that the hacker will hacked your account.

Yes, it's very easy to know where you live, what's your name, your face, etc. because the people's lives are in there but in my opinion, if you are an adult there's nothing wrong with that unless they go ever the board telling their adress and all that (which kids do all the time, because they are not aware of the dangers):

This is very true. We must not be too trusting on our social networks because there are a lot of hackers and scam artists. I've also read somewhere that we should also avoid posting where we are about to go or if we are going on a holiday because there are thieves that might take advantage of the opportunity while you are away from your house.

Therefore we must be careful in using the internet and in giving away our personal information to strangers.

Wow wonderful advise, I am so impressed, actually I was not so informed about this and usually provided all my information to friends that is on-line friends. But I shall be more careful in the future and hide them from friends who are not reliable. I am going to hide them from right now.
