There is a massive political crisis in the US regarding their deficit and it looks like right wingers in the Congress will force America to default on its loans, leave millions of people without their salary or social security payments and plunge the world into another economic crisis as the world's economic leader loses its coveted AAA credit rating.
This could be avoided by Congress and the White House agreeing to increase America's borrowing limit and investing in public works to stimulate the economy. But the right wingers, particularly the Tea Party, seem hell bent against this out of sheer political ideology.
