[ARCHIVED] Mini DDOS Attack

RE: Mini DDOS Attack

You're welcome. It wasn't a DDoS attack, I was testing an SEO tool I'm working on. I don't think 300 visitors would crash a forums on a VPS ....

RE: Trashed: Mini DDOS Attack

Well isn't that still an offence?

RE: Mini DDOS Attack

No, it's not a DDoS.. DDoS is the fact of flooding your server. The actual aim of my SEO tool is not too flood the server, otherwise it wouldn't be worth using. Nothing to do with DDoS, and it was not an "attack"...

By analyzing my recent logs in the control panel, I had noticed a bruteforce attack on my cPanel at the same time when your "SEO tool" was initialized on my forum, by quite a large number of bots. Good try though.

Oh I see. But the visitors did navigate on the forums, to pretend real traffic. They are not programmed to enter any password or click any links though.

So they might have visited your login page, but did not enter any data or clicked any button.

I won't discuss this anymore for security purposes.
