[ARCHIVED] Marketplace Pictures

I would just like to clarify to users and Moderators/Staff. Sellers do not have to verify their products in game to be allowed to sell here on Rune Gear. All that is required (by looking at the rules) are images of the products. If there are images, they can be sold here. Pictures don't have to say anything about Rune Gear, images are enough. If someone is bothered enough to fake an image, that's okay, nothing is stopping you from asking for proof in game if you're going to complete the trade.

I'd like to remind users to practice safety while participating in trades. Remember to read the stickies around in the Marketplace.

Okay, man. It's just they can get scammed easily without proof in the picture, like now I can go get a picture of a party hat, and scam someone. Yah Dig?

So what? If someone is looking to scam, who's stopping them from manipulating an image. If someone is stupid enough to participate in a trade without asking someone for in-game proof, that's something we can't stop.

people are goinng to get scammed, you cant prevent it. but this will ensure that people actually have the item being traded, not a must if your trading, but a caution which should be in place, as you said, if people are dumb enough to go trough with the trade, tough luck.

When you buy the item, you can see it in the trade window right?

Exactly. This also counts for accounts and such.

For High Value Items, I do believe that people should be very cautious and not just "Jump" into a great deal.

If a deal is to good to be true it is, always be slow in a deal scammers will try to rush a deal, consider all eventualities.

You have to respect runescape's initiative though.
Less Scamming = Good.

Even though RG Scam Rates are Low.
