Well, I've asked people the same question as you and I could answer some things up for you.

For one, free hosts are the equivalent to a monkey's tit.. which means it gets shutdown really fast because of a complaint.
Paid hosts are the way to go! Cheap ones like .in go for like $4

Use a VPS or buy a bulletproof dedicated server, and how they make it look legit is that you just have to have be patient on what you put up in the site that you are hosting.

I know that MySQL has a offer in the marketplace, he'll do it all for you.
