Introduction: I got back from Turkey at 2AM this morning, so my apologies if the writing isn't my best and/or there are any grammatical errors.
This is a story about what happened when I went quad-biking in Turkey.

It was half-past two on a hot day in Kalkan. The blistering heat was wavering from the dirty sand and off the old cement roads. This is when I arrived at the small shack behind a maze of fields and crops. It was ramshackle and had a corrugated iron roof with a tired sheepdog dozing by the front door.
This is when I met Mohammed. He was about 25, tall and tanned. He was wearing a blue cap and a collared short-sleeved shirt with shorts. His voice was very deep, yet had a caring tone to it. All 5 of us in my group then got onto the bikes and put on the light black helmets. We drove along a murky river with goats grazing on the other side of it. The bamboo lining it was thick and strongly scented. As we drove further along into the dunes the sand was flung up into out faces and we became increasingly covered in an aura of dust.
We then made a sharp left hand turn and begun to ascend a steep rocky lane which lane to a mountain track. as you were driving along it, on your right was about 3 feet of shrubs bleating a cacophony of noise from the crickets against a wall of rock and rubble. On the opposite side was a cliff face, about 15m from the ground level below. Some small bushes and young trees were growing off this hard dirt and rock wall. We had been driving for a good 2 hours now and everyone was getting tired and thirsty. The sun was beating down.
This is when it happened. Right from the start my bearing was slightly off, my bike steered slightly to the left, but this was fine and I just took in in mind when I was steering. However, I can't quite remember what happened at this point, I must've been driving to close to the edge when my thumb left the accelerator or maybe I didn't turn enough. Before I could even blink my eye my quad begun to flip over the side of the cliff. Then time seemed to freeze, I remained calm yet I had a sense of pain, I thought I was going to break my back or maybe an arm. Then I felt myself hit a tree, i felt safe, I knew I wouldn;t fall right down to the rocks below. Then the full weight of the quad bike landed on top of me, I had to act quickly, I push with all my strength and pushed if off the weak branch down to the rocks below.
I then knew I was safe. I lay there for a brief 30 seconds before clambering a metre of so back up to the road. I was only left with some cuts and bruises. Luckily nothing worse..

Thanks for reading ;3

Lucky man. One time me and my friend were biking down a major street, which for no apparent reason had little traffic at the time. My friend was biking in the middle of the side-walk, while I was balancing on the curb with my bike trying not to slip off. Suddenly, a 2003 Mazda Pick up came roaring across the corner and sped down the opposite side of the street. At that moment my front tire, followed by the back tire fell off the curb. The car was just about to pass us when all of a sudden it swerved in our direction.

Adrenaline kicked it (thank god), and as if time stopped, I hopped off my bike and jumped to the far side of the side walk. The car hit my bike and destroyed it. My first reflex to this horrific event was to turn around... and give him the finger. If I had taken the licence plate instead of flicking my finger, I probably would have had the chance to report him to the police.

Oh and my friend? He shat himself.
