Here is an excerpt from wikipedia:

420, 4:20, or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) is a term used primarily in North America to refer to the consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture. Observances based on the number include the time (4:20 p.m.) as well as the date (April 20).

Basically, it's used to reference smoking weed. I don't smoke weed, but some people I know do.

4/20 is a date in which a bunch of people smoke pot. ( I don't smoke )

yeah, it's not so serious, it's more of an inside joke for people who smoke or know people that smoke weed. Again, I don't smoke weed, but I still think this will be funny for a few people I know.
