Why do people censor part of their OG usernames that they are posting? I don't quite understand.

To attempt to not get the tag banned and or stolen from a turbo'er etc. even though it's quite easy to tell the names

You realize that the tag can't be banned even if one letter is censored, microsoft can't tell directly what letter it is, it can be any letter, they can't just go banning any tag haha.

Why would they just ban random tags that they see posted on forums? For selling? What's wrong with that?
