  1. Suicide

I feel the same way. I'm not sure if he did it at school or not.
  2. Suicide

Hey everyone, I'm Adam, as I'm sure you all already know. This morning a student at my school killed himself. It's amazing the effect it had on the rest of the school. So I want to you, at what point does someone decide there is no other way out? What could ever drive someone to the edge...

Welcome, glad to have you! :D
  4. Food that...

Lunchables and icecream bars, not at the same time >.< Lunchables, I hate them. I always ate them whenever I went over to my friends house because her mom always bought them for her. I can't stand remembering back when I used to go over to see her, so I can't eat Lunchables. Icecream bars...

Welcome to the forum! I think the philosophy section gets a good bit of debate going on and science isn't too bad, you should check 'em out. :D

  8. Squaring of numbers near a power of ten

Sweet, I think I'll play around with that equation a little more :) +rep for the great thread.
  9. Squaring of numbers near a power of ten

    I've figured out why it only works with 1 in the 10s (or 100s, ect.) place. [(10t+u)+u]10+u^2=(10t+u)^2 = [10t+2u]10+u^2=100t^2+20tu+u^2 = 100t+20u+u^2=100t^2+20tu+u^2 t= digit in 10s place (1) u= digit in 1s place (8) 100+160+64=100+160+64 See what I'm saying? Did I do it...
  10. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC)

I've never had too much of an interest in physics, so I suppose that's why I don't care too much. I would however, be in strong opposition to it if it had been funded by a government. That's why I'm so glad it was privately funded.
  11. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC)

I don't really have much of an oppinion on it. I suppose I would call it a good thing because it's privatly funded. Almost like a bunch of friends buying a beachhouse, on a much larger (and nerdier :P) scale.
  12. Squaring of numbers near a power of ten

Maybe someday we'll put that to the test ;) btw, grats on 200 man.
  13. Squaring of numbers near a power of ten

I suppose I didn't see it then. I've never been the best at math.
  14. Squaring of numbers near a power of ten

Cool you found a pattern, but why does it work?
  15. Philosophical Rambles

Makes perfect sense. I suppose then, my idea would be a far more realistic perspective of life (from a scientific point of view) because you know you exist, but you cannot prove that I do or anyone else does.
  16. Philosophical Rambles

I suppose the interesting thing about it, is that it can't be proven one way or another. :D
  17. Banner for Advertisement.

Sure thing, I'll get right to work :) It would be really helpful if someone knew the font that was used, though.
  18. Point of Origin

Thank you, that means a lot :) However, if days were 29 hours long, would our circadian rhythm not adjust? [hr] What I'm saying is that because of how much society has changed, the time system is no longer dependent on solar activity, it would just be absurd to change it.
  19. Point of Origin

Allow me to rephrase myself. What I'm saying, is that we invented the concept of time. A theoretical metronome clicking along side the universe keeping everything in balance, telling us when to wake up in the morning and get to work. We chose to base this on the passing of the sun, but only...
