Actually, by looking at the light of a star you are going back in time because your looking at light that was let out possibly millions of years ago.

Technically, we all probably have. Every time you look at a star you are looking at light that was released light years away. Therefore, looking back in time. I'm not sure about the distance of the closest star or the time it would take to get here.
