Well, I still use PayPal as my #1 payment processor FYI. Most people are just afraid they might get limited or people can chargeback easily.

If you have the cash to start up the forum and keep it running for a long time, go ahead. Also, do not forget you'll be needing excellent GFX to make the forums look professional. Not to mention a custom/premium theme too bud. :)
