Check out the movie Redline, just finished it. It's amazing. Took 7 years to make as it was drawn by hand, awesome racing movie and you can find it on the net in full 1080p.

Bakemonogatari is a great series in my opinion, containing very witty dialogue, while having a cinematic feel to it. Pretty nice show if you want a break from Shounen and such.

Neon Genesis Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain have to be my top two favorite anime, athough there are many series I've really enjoyed.
