The death toll may well exceed 10,000 as reported by broadcaster NHK. A number of towns around Fukushima, Japan have been completely wiped out from the map. Besides, two nuclear power plants have already exploded with leaking of radiation to air causing more fears for people elsewhere...

The mechanism is: x^2=x^2 - y^2 +y^2=(x+y)(x-y)+y^2. Now if you want to find out 18^2, you can use the above formula: 18^2=18^2-8^2+8^2=(18+8)(18-8)+8^2=26*10+64=324.:D

Whatever kind of death is unfortunate. Life may not always be meaniningful and could often be painful, but without life there is no meaning at all. Suffering is hard. However, without suffering, it is not easy to appreciate the meaning of HAPPINESS. :(
