They never specified he died, although it's almost impossible that he survived that cliff. Plus they could go for the approach of having "Robin" taking over the hood.

Although the Seahawks may be bruised and a bit injured all around their roster, they're fighters. I have Tom Brady choking this super bowl, and Russel Wilson clutching everything again. They over came so much, they can do it again.
