BSOD

I was just watching some youtube vids when I got my first BSOD. I quickly shut my laptop off before anything could happen. I ran in safe mod and ran a full scan with malwarebytes and got nothing. Any chance this was random and won't happen again? I'm honestly not sure how all this works, so any help would be appreciated. Maybe a program to check it, or even just advice. Thanks!

What's your OS?

Windows 7. Everything has been working fine, I tried out a few free keyloggers from HF a few days ago, not sure if that could possibly have something to do with it.

I haven't had Windows 7 BSOD for me yet, but did you happen to grab the error message?

Erm no, when I get a bsod I freak out and turn my comp off. Lol i'm so untechy. Is it smart to shut it off, or do you let it "dump physical memory" or whatever it is? Just wondering in case it happens again.

Try roll back your flash driver. The new flash player gave me a BSOD when I updated it on Google Chrome

Um what? Speak in baby terms for me please :3. I use firefox and haven't updated anything for it recently.

And it's almost been an hour now, I've been running it normally now for 30 minutes with nothing wrong. Any ideas/thoughts?

My computer which I bought 1 year ago is the biggest piece of shit ever. You wouldn't think it would suck donkey dick since it cost 1k. The fucking thing at random times turns off and the screen turns to a random color then goes all rainbowy. I've already had the motherboard replaced 2 times. Never buy a Dell laptop ever. They are the biggest fucking piece of shit ever. FUCK DELL!

Hmm, that's quite interesting. Run a HJT log and post it in this section.

blue screen usually refers to hardware failure. Always happens to me when I'm overclocking my CPU.

Overclocking is soooo bad in sooooo many ways, I also doubt he was overclocking.

@[Mike] here's my log. And I wasn't near overclocking, I was only watching youtube, no botting or anything. Btw it's run fine today for school, so not really sure what to think of it :/.

You'll be able to see it it's pretty much like any other error code:

example: Error 0x0000005F

That's if your computer lacks airflow and stability.

Anyways, Did you install any new hard ware?

Sometimes the BSOD will come up and do nothing. Some may disagree to that, but I have had the BSOD on the pc I am using now 4+ times, each time it did absolutely nothing. Usually it was because I was running far too many things and it just randomly pooped on me. I can't extend 2gb of ram too far rofl.

One time I was just chillin, playing Assassins creed Brotherhood on my computer... Next thing I know, BSOD!

Turned it off and on, and what do you know? not shit happened.

If you don't feel safe with just thinking it did nothing, just go ahead and reset back to a previous state via restore or something. Otherwise, if it doesn't seem like anything has happened, just don't worry about it.

The fact it goes to bsod means something happened... Just because your windows still works when you restart doesn't mean there's nothing wrong

After my computer installed some updates yesterday, when I restarted I got one. I think it was trying to install too many things at once.

Also, your HJT is fine.

K, well nothing has happened since, everythings worked fine and nothing bad has been found in my HJT or by malware bytes so I guess this can be closed and I'll open if it happens again. Thanks for the help peeps! :3
