North Korea threat to world?

I talked to an engineer who works for Boeing today, he said that you if North Korea would launch a Nuclear bomb we would know right away by a satellite that monitors radiation. So before it would hit America, we would launch antimissiles to destroy the Nuke and strike North Korea. It wouldn't even reach us

This is all a threat because North America is stepping up drills to help South Korea just incase North Korea becomes aggressive. So basically they're threathening to be more aggressive because they're scared America and South Korea are going to launch an attack against North Korea.

Also like Reptar just said, the US would be able to sense them and have the threat neutralized before it even reached us.

However, I don't feel North Korea would do it as the UN put a sanction against it meaning that if they did all the members of the UN would be on their ass along with defending and helping America just incase something happens.

This honestly isn't out of the ordinary. North Korea performs threats like this every year or so. It's been going on for years. I'll tell you why. North Korea is a dictatorship, and every once in a while they begin to run out of money. To prevent this, North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un, starts making stupid threats and acting up knowing that the US will give him money to shut up and behave. He keeps the money to somewhat stabilize his country's economy until he begins to run out of money again.

We have two of the strongest allies in the world(Russia & China). China has the most advanced weaponry in the world and Russia has one of the best militaries in the world. And on top of that America has millions of troops ready to slaughter anything in it's path. And north Korea only has a couple nukes and an amateur military at best with no major serious allies. If there was ever going to be any sort of preemptive strike against the US Kim-Jun un would have been already assassinated. We would already be able to detect any sort of Nuclear or Biological Weapon headed towards us and would easily be able to disarm it the air. Not to mention only a select few Nuclear Missile from us would wipe North Korea off the end of the planet.

If north Korea did anything at all, the UN would be all over it. Unlike the opinions of most, the UN is not useless. Sure, they can't FORCE a country to do anything but, if there was a state of crisis like you are suggesting. I'm sure most countries would be willing to contribute to the prevention like such.

While I'm scared as ever of the possibility of being nuked (and if we're nuked, I'll be hit first on the East coast). However, North Korea wouldn't go against the entire US and it's allies. Nuke one of us, and North Korea will be wiped off the earth. North Korea is simple a little dog barking big game.

North Korea won't do it. They just want to show the world that their small little country actually exists. I highly doubt this would happen but if it does, good for me not living in the US.

They'd be fucked. At first when a few of my friends and I started talking about this in class I was a bit worried, but now that I think about it, we'd tear them a new asshole. Figure, if they attacked us, they'd also be attacking NATO (not directly, but you know what I mean). Anyway, like Kill also stated, they'd have Russia up their asses too. Overall "Un" would be fucking him and his country right when he presses that launch button.

I think they wouldn't be stupid enough to follow threw with their threat. If they even tried and unsuccessfully nuked US, we would either nuke them back and succeed, or we would go in and fuck them up. It would for sure be world war 3, and it would for sure be nukes involved.

After reading up a bit more, I figured out they're basically running out of allies down in Korea. China has been disagreeing with what they've been doing, so we've got the clear advantage. Nothing is going to happen.
